Volunteer of the Year, District 1, Ty Mitcham

Today, we got to honor one of our own as Georgia District 1’s Volunteer of the Year. Ty Mitcham has served 9 years on the CLL Board of Directors with 7 years as Cartersville Little League President. He’s helped raise the funds to build the indoor batting facility, redo Rudy York field, purchase 2 zero turn John Deere lawnmowers, a John Deere gator, two storage buildings, install a new batting cage at Cross street field, and install new scoreboards on all 5 fields. He worked with the City of Cartersville Parks and Recreation to get Joe Frank Harris field redone. He has spent countless hours at this park, picking up trash, cutting grass, sodding fields, spraying weeds, hanging signs, emptying trash cans, making Sam’s runs for the concession stand, and the list goes on. He has been a great president and has led this league with integrity. He has made sure CLL has been a great steward of the funds raised from the community. He figured out ways to keep our registration fee at the lowest cost possible and is one of the reasons that so many families have such great memories with the CLL organization. He has been either the manager or an assistant coach of teams for the last 13 years. All the while, he has made sure his family and business are running properly. He has made CLL a one of kind place to play local competitive weekday baseball! Thank you for your continuous love and support of this league, Ty! What a well deserved award!
