Post Season and Tournament Play

Dear Cartersville Little League Family,

We hope that you and your family have enjoyed your time so far this season at the park. It has been very exciting to see how quickly our players have progressed and how the quality of the games continues to improve. On behalf of our board of directors, we want to say a huge 'thank you" to our managers and coaches in our league that have given so much of their time to help develop their players and their teams. Below, I have outlined what you can expect during our post-season play.

Post-Season Tournaments
When our regular season concludes, all divisions (rookie, minor, and majors) will hold a double elimination tournament to name the champion from each division. These tournaments are a lot of fun and surely to generate some excitement for all divisions. Keep a look out on quick scores for your divisions bracket and announcement of games. All players will participate in the Cartersville Little League post-season tournaments.

Tournament Teams (All Stars)
Tournament Teams, also known as All Stars, are selected and formed after the conclusion of the post-season tournaments. Players are invited to participate through a process that includes all regular season managers casting ballots. Unlike league divisions for regular season, All Star teams are grouped by the player's baseball age during the regular season. Our league sends all star players to participate in two different tournaments with both beginning at the local district level.

Participating players will continue post-season with practices and tournament games taking place over the summer, representing Cartersville Little League in two different groupings, purple and gold. Purple All Star teams will compete in Little League International sanctioned tournaments. Gold All-Star teams compete in Georgia Parks & Recreation (GRPA) tournaments. Gold teams are formed only for ages 8U, 10U, and 12U.

All Star Managers will communicate dates to ensure players are available for tournament dates for their respective age groups. Additionally, I have listed dates below to help you to understand when each age group completes their tournament team schedule. *

Coaching, Volunteering, Board Positions
If you have stood on the outside of the fence this year and would love the opportunity to work with kids next year by teaching them life lessons through the game of baseball, we would love to connect with you! Each year we need over 25 managers, many more coaches, over 20 team moms, and dozens of volunteers to support our players on the field. Coaching not your thing? We can always use your valuable skill set in so many areas to support our league. In addition, we have many volunteer opportunities off the field, as well. In fact, ask your team manager if you can work the score board or rake the fields after a game in the next few weeks. Even seemingly small tasks can be a HUGE help! We recognize that our league is blessed to have so many amazing managers and coaches and are grateful for all team moms and volunteers that give their time to make this a great experience for our players!

Above all else, I believe our community of volunteers is what separates our league from all other leagues.  To ensure the level of quality continues each year for Cartersville Little League, we will need your help! Did you know? Planning for the 2020 CLL season begins in August at the General Meeting for the Board of Directors, which we invite you to participate in and welcome your input. During that meeting, we will also be voting on our 19-20 Board of Directors. If you have time and passion to get involved, then please contact me at the below email address and I will be happy to discuss what positions we have and how your skills can be mutually beneficial.

This league is special because of our Cartersville Little League Family, it takes each one of us to play a role to reach the end result of lifelong memories with family and friends.

If you have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to me and if there is something that comes to mind that we can improve on at the park, then please bring that to my attention, as well. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with the great feedback we receive!

Best Regards,

Ty Mitcham, President
Cartersville Little League Board of Directors
